This year marks the first-ever Eisner Award win for a Godzilla comic book.
And the 2025 Will Eisner Comic Industry Award for Best Anthology goes to… Godzilla! This past weekend Godzilla’s 70th Anniversary – Comic Hardcover Anthology and IDW Publishing editor Jake Williams and others received the first-ever win for a Godzilla comic book.
The 200-page hardcover was edited by Williams and features stories by James Stokoe, Matt Frank, Joëlle Jones, Michael Conrad, Adam Gorham and more, plus variant covers by Arthur Adams, Tom Whalen, Jeffrey Zornow, Sophie Campbell, and E.J. Su.
Additionally, artist Juni Ba won the Eisner for Best Cover Artist, in part for his work on IDW’s Godzilla Skate or Die graphic novel.
The Eisner win follows two 2024 Godzilla comic nominations, including Frank Tieri and Inaki Miranda’s Best Limited Series nomination and Miranda’s Best Penciller/Inker or Penciller/Inker Team nomination for Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons.
